We’re Specialized
At T2 our tutors specialize in math, working with students from kindergarten thru 12th grade. They are tested on their math skills (needing to score at least in the 90th percentile on the math SAT portion), trained on tutoring for math specifically, and able to relate to math concepts on multiples levels. By having a more narrow scope than tutors who work in multiple subjects they are able to hone their craft more effectively, while being comfortable knowing that they are tutoring in something that they excel in. They also realize that while they are math people, many of our students are not, so our tutors are trained on how to translate a student’s strengths in other disciplines such as English, history, science, art, music, or sports into an understanding of math.

Everything we do at T2 revolves around you, our client. We know that families are usually very busy during the week with everyone having an abundance of academic, extra-curricular, and social obligations. One of the foundations of our company is that in-home tutoring is the most time efficient way for a student to receive tutoring, eliminating the need to drive to a tutoring center where often times just as much time is spent traveling as actually receiving tutoring. Maintaining an effective relationship with our clients also involves great communication. After each tutoring session you will receive a report detailing your child’s session and their progress. Our director is always easily accessible via phone or email to answer any questions or deal with concerns that you may have. Periodically we will ask you for your feedback on your child’s tutor to make sure they are doing their best when it comes to meeting the needs of you and your child.
We’re Flexible
An advantage of working with a small company like T2 is how flexible we can be. We have more options when it comes to fitting our tutoring sessions into your child’s schedule. We stay on top of school schedules to make sure your child is prepared for their upcoming homework, projects, quizzes, tests, and exams. While we prefer to have our sessions in your home, working at your child’s school, local library, or coffee shop are also viable options. The scheduling of sessions are not the only part of our company that are flexible, the lessons are as well. As a small company we are not tied down to teaching material a certain way and give our tutors the freedom to do what they feel helps your child relate best to the material, understanding that learning is not one size fits all. Often tutors utilize technology and math games to help develop skills and make their sessions more interesting while helping the concepts stick. At the same time they recognize that effective tutoring often requires flexibility in adjusting to situations that arise and are trained to “seize the moment” and adapt when needed.
